Home for the Holidays

"The Chocolate House" built by Marcia Toole
More than any other, the holiday season is a time when our thoughts naturally turn to home an family. The holiday season is a special time of year for Umbrella of the Capital District too. We’re definitely getting into the holiday spirit.
In addition to the “routine” work we are doing, these days Umbrella handypeople are helping spread the holiday spirit by setting up and decorating Christmas trees, hanging lights and other decorations, taking members shopping and even helping members assemble the gifts they’ve purchased. One of our handypeople even built and decorated a whole house just for the holidays. (See photo)
Yes, we’ve got the holiday spirit and we’re doing everything we can to assure a happy holiday season for all Umbrella members and their families.
Season’s greetings to all Umbrella members, handypersons and friends from all of us at Umbrella.
Best wishes for the new year,
Ron, Elaine, Valarie, Sam, John, and Ann
Umbrella Fundraiser a Success
Sold lots of art, made lots of money. A fund-raising event for Umbrella of the Capital District to support its Independence Home Outreach Project in Schenectady County. Umbrella provides high-quality, low-cost handyman and homemaker services to help elderly and disabled homeowners stay in their own homes and maintain their independence. Money raised at this event will help offset costs of service coordination and outreach, targeting low-income seniors and disabled individuals as well as subsidize membership services for low-income individuals.
